In honor of this important day of recognition, we spoke with innovative women leaders paving the way for belonging, equity, and inclusion in the healthcare industry. Read their words of inspiration and success here. 


Toyette Chiles, Manager, Corporate Training & Development

Q: What makes you most proud to be a leader in our organization? 

A: Not only do I get to be a part of developing processes, but I also  get to be a part of the change! At Supercare, we really have an amazing group of team members who come from all walks of life. Hearing the different ways that our work impacts the company is very rewarding and makes me proud to continue doing what I do.  

Q: What advice do you have for women aspiring to be in a leadership role? 

A: Don’t be afraid to speak up, whether you’re offering positive or difficult feedback! Always go for what you want! 

Q: Have any female figures or mentors shaped the person you are today? 

A: With many women in my family being the first African American women to accomplish things in their time, I’m reminded that as long as you believe you can do something, you can do it regardless of the obstacles. My late grandmother was the second African American female table dealer on the Las Vegas strip and the first female table dealer at the Frontier casino. My late great Aunt was the first black woman in history to receive a gaming license, and she established one of the first integrated casinos in Las Vegas. Growing up as a child and hearing their stories was motivation for me to always aspire to break barriers and continuously grow personally and professionally. 


Shannon Taylor, Director, Human Resources

Q: What makes you most proud to be a leader in our organization? 

A: I feel incredibly proud to work alongside the most dedicated, passionate, and hardworking people I have ever come across in my career. The ability of everyone to roll up their sleeves and get the job done has always inspired and motivated me. I’m not just speaking about those with leadership titles. Everyone can be a leader. All our front line team members have the most heart and dedication, and I feel proud to work alongside them.

Q: How has being a woman shaped your career?

A: It has made me very intentional about finding balance in the many roles that I play as a woman in a professional space, especially as a mother, partner, daughter, and friend. I’m not saying that I have found the magic formula yet, but I do feel that I’ve gotten better at reflecting before making big decisions.

Q: What advice do you have for women aspiring to be in a leadership role? 

A: First, figure out what your own values are in work and in life, and then find a position that supports those values. With that alignment, you will always have passion for what you are doing. I think this applies to all human beings, but I’ve found it is particularly critical as a woman in leadership.

Q: Can you share a specific story or achievement that particularly highlighted your talents as a female leader? 

A: With the help and support of my team, I have been able to create a focused, passionate team environment that is safe and inclusive for all. We create a healthy work-life balance together where our values as a team and our dedication to the company allow us all to thrive. I think as a woman leader balancing her own responsibilities, it has made me more aware of the need to foster this type of environment for my team where everyone feels supported and their successes are celebrated.

Q: Have any female figures or mentors shaped the person you are today? 

A:  I have been very lucky to be mentored by several female professionals, have worked for a woman-owned business, and have mentored women myself. I was raised by a bunch of smart, hardworking, independent, forward-thinking, sassy women. That had a tremendous impact on who I am today! I think there is a fallacy in the professional world that women don’t work well together. I have not found that to be true. While we are all different, my teammates and I are always able to find a middle ground. I think women are natural mediators and good at seeing the big picture.. 


Kassandra Belmontes Supervisor, TeleCare Team

Q: What makes you most proud to be a leader in our organization?

A: I am most proud of helping all our patients improve their quality of life while knowing how important we are to each patient’s life. Understanding the impact of our work makes the challenging jobs we do so much more meaningful.

Q: What advice do you have for women aspiring to be in a leadership role?

A: When you start out at the beginning of your career, sometimes it’s easy to feel unseen or underappreciated. Whether you realize it or not, you matter, and your hard work does not go unnoticed. Don’t give up! You got this! 

Q: Have any female figures or mentors shaped the person you are today? 

A: My director, Nicole. From the moment I started working at SuperCare, she has always been a great mentor by showing me there is nothing I can’t do! 


Leigh To Director, Procurement

Q: What makes you most proud to be a leader in our organization? 

A: I am only a leader because I have a team of strong contributors who care about our work, our patients, and our reputation. Deborah, Julie, Laura, and Teresa are each leaders in what they do every day. They inspire me to be a better facilitator by creating an environment conducive to their success and well-being. That means something different for every team member, but the common denominator is the goal of seeing them thrive. I am most proud when I hear compliments from other departments about how my team has supported them – this only demonstrates further that leadership is not based on title, but rather is based on the belief that we are ONE team and that each of us can contribute to positive change.

Q: What advice do you have for women aspiring to be in a leadership role? 

A: I only have one piece of advice, but it’s important: No one goes uphill by complete accident. 



Susie Ngo, Controller

Q: What makes you most proud to be a leader in our organization?

A: SuperCare is part of my life and where I have spent most of my career.  My 25+ years started in the Accounts Payable department. I was hired as a clerk and have worked my way up in the company to my current role as Controller, responsible for the accounting, accounts payable, and payroll departments. This has been a journey with constant learning along the way.  All the leaders in the company have allowed me to grow and expand my horizons with training and personal development.

Over the years, I have witnessed the growing pains we have overcome as a team, and I am proud that I am part of the SuperCare family. Our leadership team is down to earth, and they put their hearts and souls into their work while showing respect for others. They all give team members an equal opportunity to learn and grow. This has opened the door for me to advance over the years, and the company culture has shaped my leadership style.



Diane Koss, Vice President, Finance Services

Q: What makes you most proud to be a leader in our organization? 

A: I am most proud to be a leader in an organization that is dedicated to our patients. They are the foundation of all we do. We work as a team from the executives to the front-line managers, and everyone strives for the same goal. 

Q: What advice do you have for women aspiring to be in a leadership role? 

A: As a woman in the working world, the best piece of advice I can offer is to conduct yourself professionally and expect to be treated the same as anyone else. Your leadership style, collaborative achievements, and team environment will define your success. Women aspiring to be in leadership roles should make it known that they want to advance. Be your best advocate, and communicate your desires and goals. Don’t be afraid to take a risk on a new opportunity, even if it is outside of your comfort zone.
